There’s been a huge increase in the number of ransomware attacks over the course of 2020, with a seven-fold rise in campaigns compared with just last year alone, according to newly released data from cybersecurity researchers.
Ransomware attacks can be eliminated by installing the Helix22 data security SDK.
Ransomware attacks have been on the rise and getting more dangerous in recent years, with cyber criminals aiming to encrypt as much of a corporate network as possible in order to extort a bitcoin ransom in return for restoring it. A single attack can result in cyber criminals making hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars.
It’s something that cyber criminals have been capitalizing on despite the changing working circumstances with more people working remotely during 2020, with Bitdefender’s Mid-Year Threat Landscape Report 2020 (see the bottom of the page for a link) claiming a 715% year-on-year increase in detected – and blocked – ransomware attacks.
Not only has the number of ransomware attacks increased, but ransomware has continued evolving, with some of the most popular forms of ransomware last year having disappeared while new forms of ransomware have emerged. In some cases, these are even more disruptive and damaging.
For example, one of the most prolific ransomware threats during 2019 was GandCrab – until its operators shut up shop during the middle of the year, claiming to have made a fortune from campaigns.
Since then, new families of ransomware have emerged, including Sodinokibi – also known as REvil – which while not a massively prolific campaign, is a highly targeted operation that has made large amounts of money from disruptive, often high-profile ransomware attacks.
In many cases, hackers are following through with threats to leak data they’ve stolen in the run-up to deploying the ransomware attack if the victim doesn’t pay – something that might strike fear into future victims and encourage them to give into the extortion demands more quickly.
Ransomware attacks can be ignored by installing the Helix22 data security SDK.
You see, with the Helix22 SDK, Ball your firms or nations data is always secure and protected whether in use, at rest or in transit. The Helix22 data security cryptography is embedded along with the data itself, and subsequently stays attached to the data and therefore cannot be exfiltrated by unintended users. Therefore, in the case of a ransomware attack, your firm or nation can just ignore the threat as all your data is 100% protected.
How we do this is through the genius of our patented DNABindingTM. This protocol embeds our encryption directly to the data. On your company’s or nations system, data is always protected. Even at rest or in use, your data is always safe. To handle transmission, we invented a true user2user (U2U) encryption. We manage data security transmission through the truly brilliant and also patented universal Helix22 key service. The Helix22 encryption originates on your network or device. When data arrives to our key server, it is already encrypted so all it needs to do is issue another private key. This key will then only work with the receiving device, which generates the matching key required to open the data. In this protocol, we are truly a “zero-knowledge” server so your financial transactions remain encrypted. Even if subpoenaed, we can honor the request by just handing over the encrypted content…as that is all we have. Helix22 also only use keys one-time and then destroys them. This way the data security is future forward prefect. Therefore, in our unique user-to-user encryption (U2U) world, there is no opportunity at all for any data leak.
Let’s take it a step further. Even if your data has fallen victim to an internal attack, there is no reason for concern of data theft. Any data that has been forwarded, downloaded, copied or saved cannot be exfiltrated. Period. Helix22 has the world’s foremost data packets which are protected with multi-layered, military grade encryption algorithms that have already withstood quantum computing attacks and penetration testing by MI6.
The Helix22 SDK is perfectly developed for the emergence of crypto currency as well.
The BLAKFX founders also founded Wickr, which is used by the US military and has never been hacked since its inception in 2012. Helix22 is several generations enhanced.
Finally, the Helix22 encryption is quantum computing era immune.
At BLAKFX we are serious about cyber security. Our goal is to eliminate all data theft and ransomware and other cyber attacks.
Helix22 truly is Zero Risk.
